This morning at 10 a.m., Pokémon unveiled the first-ever Pokémon Center pop-up store in the Shepherd’s Bush area of Westfield London.
For those, like myself, who haven’t had the fortune of visiting a Pokémon Center in Japan, now is your chance to explore the exclusive pop-up shop. Here are some useful details:
- Location: Westfield London (Ariel Way, Shepherd’s Bush W12 7GF) on the 1st floor.
- Duration: From October 18, 2019, Friday, to November 15, 2019, Friday.
- Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., Sunday: 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
So, what’s in store for you here? As expected, there’s a plethora of official Pokémon merchandise, including exclusive Pokémon Center London items found nowhere else. Among these exclusives are the adorable and perfectly dressed Gentleman Pikachu plush toy, a London City Pikachu metal badge, Pokémon Trading Card Game London City sleeves, London City playmats, tote bags, T-shirts, and even a Chilly’s Bottle featuring a beautiful yellow texture design with Pikachu’s iconic silhouette, and much more. Of course, your favorite Pokémon also make appearances, from cute plush toys and mugs to authentic Pokémon Trading Card Game sets.
Are you concerned about the dent it might make in your wallet? Surprisingly and quite reasonably, the pricing of these items is delightful. The exclusive London City Pikachu plush toy, for example, is priced at only £20. Of course, if you’re as Pokémon-crazed as I am and almost tempted to buy the entire store, these expenses can still add up! As for purchase limits, London-exclusive items will have a one-item limit to ensure everyone has a fair chance throughout the store’s entire month of operation. Other items may also have purchase limits as needed.
But that’s not the only option for making purchases here. With the upcoming release of “Pokémon Sword and Shield,” there’s a demo station upstairs where you can play the game and try a 10-minute demo featuring a Water-type Pokémon Gym. Friendly staff will guide you through the challenge, and if you haven’t pre-ordered your copy yet, you can do so in the store and receive exclusive badges of Pikachu, Sobble, Scorbunny, and Grookey, delivered along with the game and a steelbook case and character figurines.
For any Pokémon enthusiast, Pokémon Center London is a must-visit destination! Thousands queued up on the first day, particularly on weekends, so it’s advisable to plan your visit in advance and check for regular updates on social media. The Pokémon experience also extends outside the temporary store, as you can catch more Pokémon around Westfield London through Pokémon GO, with increased chances of encountering Psyduck, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Combee, and other Pokémon.
